Speaker profile

Rafaela is a Software Engineering Graduate at the BBC with a passion for discovering creative ways of bringing more young people into the tech world. Last year she was appointed as Youth Director at MadLab – a grassroots innovation organisation that works with new and emerging technology to help shape a better world. MadLab runs a free hands-on training course, amongst other things, to help springboard unrepresented young people with a dream of getting into the digital sector.

She has also been a part of UCL’s – Making Spaces research group over the last two years with aims to develop more equitable spaces within STEM, especially for those who come from under-resourced communities.
