Rebecca Appleyard is a technical leader who is passionate about using technology to make a positive impact on people’s lives. She is currently working as a senior technical architect for Legal Aid Agency Digital in the Ministry of Justice. She works with teams who are building and modernising technology to improve the provision of legal aid. As a technical architect, she is responsible for system design and architecture, setting technical direction and driving strategy, data privacy and security.

Rebecca is also a former secondary school teacher, and so is always looking to encourage learning within the wider technical community. She has previously run communities of practice, organised hackathons, book clubs and workshops.
